Sat Mar 24, 2012 Description
Here's my layout for Round 4: 1. Warp three shadows: 2 are on the bows, and 1 is on the music note 2. Use 4 circles: 2 are the cirlce tags 5 and 3, one is the large green circle, and the other is a small circle brush that I added around the word "circle" in the song lyrics. 3. Subject: All About Me: Done. 4. Scrap from one kit, and use every single paper in the kit: Happy Go Lucky by Shabby Princess; used all 12 papers. This was a real challenge for me since I'm usually a simple, minimalist scrapper. 5. Take a self-portrait and use it on your layout: Done - also a challenge, as I loathe taking photos of myself. I'd rather my DH take them because he knows how to take flattering photos. lol 6. Use a stroke or outline somewhere on your page: I added a stroke around "Music & Me" in the title. 7. Use song lyrics on your page: I used "I've Got the Music in Me" written by Tobias Stephen Boshell. 8. Journal directly on your photo: Done: "At 53, I’ve still got the music in me. I love music. I sing for the children at church for Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and I still sing to songs on the radio. I recently switched from listening to oldies to light rock, with songs by Adele, who’s incredibly popular, Maroon 5, Daughtry, and Kelly Clarkson, to name a few. Now that Roger is 12, he listens to music of his generation; he’s still too young to listen to that light rock station. We listen to songs before he downloads them to make sure we approve of the lyrics. I guess what goes around comes around. I remember Mom and Dad not liking the teeny-bopper music we used to listen to, even my favorites - Donny Osmond and The Osmonds. In contrast, however, I do like a lot of the music that Roger likes. I’m not sure why. Could it be that I’ve accepted that it’s different? Or is it that it simply is fun?" 9. Choose three layouts from the gallery and use as inspiration: "MamaBug" by MamaBug [ link ] - her photo and the paper strips; "@51" by liz-jutila [ link ] - the "me" aspect of her LO, at the present time; "Absolutely Fabulous" by janfrn [ link ] - for the paper layering! 10. Use a brush to distress your text: I distressed the text on the photo and the song lyrics; distressed brush by Obsidian Dawn 11. Use brackets on your page: Done Other: Music note - made by me using the shapes in PSE Fonts: LD Penelope, Corbel Photoshop Elements 4.0 Great thing about this round, I learned how to do warp shadows and to distress text.
