Gone Camping - Father Hennepin State Park, Minnesota

Journaling taken directly from my daughter's entry in our camping journal:


"Our weekend at Father Hennepin had a lot of exciting times! * Here's a few things: * Maggie's foster family who she enjoyed laying by with her super long leash * smoke bombs - smelly bomb looking things that shoot out colorful smoke * visitors from Shanghai, China who were very nice * there were absolutely no mosquitos at Father Hennepin * and last but not least zebra mussels. All us kids dove down into the water to pick up rocks and destroy all the mussels - GROSS but fun!!


The painful (ouch!) parts were: * Grant getting whacked (thud!) with a broom while whacking a carpet-type thing that goes under the canvas of the pop-up and ... * Rachel, Grant and Mitchell got into a bunch of stinging nettles (ouch, ouch, ouch!) that stung them. Our trip was very interesting and FUN!"
