February 2010 Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to Design House Digital! I have the wonderful privilege of hosting our very first inspiration challenge.

This month, I have picked an image from a new television series' introduction sequence as our inspiration piece. It is from the new Fox series called Human Target.

I was drawn into the introduction sequence by how the different images are revealed through the look of expanding ink blotches. It reminded me a lot of Spencer Nugent's The Garage Collection: Grunge Brushes, which I have been wanting to work with more. They have so many possibilities and are wonderful tools at your disposal.

The image I picked is the last image of the sequence and one that I found myself pausing and looking at closer before resuming watching the actual show. I love the splashes of color with the bold title.

I hope you will find something in this piece to inspire your layout designs; whether it be that you are inspired by the ink splotch look, the bold colors, the strong titling, the striking portrayal of the lead character's image or something else completely that you see in it.

I think that the best thing about inspiration pieces is that they can lead you off in completely different directions than what you initially thought they would and that is wonderful.

I challenge you to let this piece inspire you and take you on an artistic journey. There is no right or wrong interpretation so you have nothing to lose by giving it a chance.
