Mon Jan 24, 2011 6:48pm Copied from the blog comments: I can shed a little light on that photo of Missy’s hubby’s forebears. According to the 1910 census, which was enumerated on April 20, they had been married 6 years, which would be about1904. By that time they had birthed 5 children, only three of whom were alive. They ended up with 8 children, Sabina (1906), Willie (1909), Leo (1910), Alma (1913), Josephine (1914), Charles (1917), Hugo (1919) and John (1923). [Those dates are estimated based on ages at the time of enumeration in 1920 and 1930.] But I can go one better, since I found their marriage license! They were married November 17, 1903. Caroline’s maiden name was Schmitz. |
