I am not prepared for this moment

This is for the June journaling challenge, to write a letter to a younger self. I did not go back quite as far in time as Kat suggested, because this was a lo that lent itself well to this technique. Normally I write with humor, so this soul-baring is a little more difficult for me, and it took me until the twins were 18 months old before I was ready to put these feelings to paper. The part of the story that is difficult is that I initially misunderstood my dd and thought we had a tragedy; happily, it turned out we had a miracle, but I didn't know that right away. This is, of course, told from my perspective. My dd might tell this story a bit differently, I imagine. TFL.
