To my east-coast peeps ... hope you stay safe and dry this weekend and that hurricane Sandy doesn't give you any problems.

So Sad. I was just in Jamaica two weeks ago. I feel for all those people. Stay safe Easterners.

Roll call! East coasters ... how is everyone? The storm moved through our area last night with really strong winds. Trees came down and took out the back fences of two of our neighbors, but other than a flooded back yard and branches strewn everywhere, we're okay. Thankfully didn't lose power, either.

Looks like areas of NY city, CT and MA are really suffering - and I'm seeing reports this morning of blizzard conditions with multiple feet of snow!

Hope everyone is safe, dry, and still has power.

Oh good! I was just thinking about you. I've been watching the news and feel so bad for all those people without power. Awful!

Stay safe everyone!

This is awful, I am getting depressed watching all the news coverage. So hard! I can't imagine a blizzard without any power to keep me warm. My prayers are going out to all those affected. Even those when knocked down trees and fences (Kat).

no power since Monday....no gas anywhere for generators.....jersey shore and nyc massive damage. (I am just outside of NYC) TOTALLY SUCKS:(

kids and husband all home. (son and hubby commute into NYC daily)and all safe.

Hoping the next few days that we/people get power and heat. Hard to complain when you see the mass devastation all over.

Oh, Chrissy. I am so sorry to hear that anyone has to go through that. And for it to happen to you, and so many other people...

My husband is saying we ought to update our own emergency gear. I guess he's right.

I remember after IKE, the hardest part was finding gas for the generators. Fortunately, we had filled up the vehicles. And we didn't have problems with the cold but the heat. I was so glad to go back to work where there was AC.

My thoughts go out to you and all the others.

Glad you didn't lose power and didn't bear the brunt of the storm!
