I've been kicking this around for a couple of weeks and I think I've made up my mind...
Ever since I was a little girl, I've always said I want to be a writer when I grow up. Well, I'm going to be 38 in a couple of months. Maybe it's just time I grew up?
I have a few friends who are participating in
NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this November and they have invited me to join them. I've been working on a novel in the back of my mind for years and early this year it finally began to take on a little more shape. I finally have a (vague) notion of where it wants to go.
So, I'm going to take the plunge. I'm going to take November off of digi scrapping (and Facebook) to free up time to write a novel (50,000 words) in 30 days. My husband says that if I'm willing to sacrifice something I love as much as digi scrapping in order to write, that I stand a good chance at succeeding. I hope so.
As it is, my scrapping mojo has been off so far this month. I don't think I've finished any of the monthly challenges yet, though I'm going to try to finish as many as I can before the month is over. Maybe it will do my digi creativity some good to take a small break, too.
So, don't be too alarmed if you don't see me around much in November. I'm going to do my best to stay away from DHD, though it's going to be crazy hard. (I'm going to have to pop in to see what's going on on National Digital Scrapbooking Day, at least.)
But, I'll be back on December 1, hopefully with a rough draft of a novel under my belt, and ready to jump back into digi scrapping with big splash!!
Wish me luck.
