Okay, I got mine done!

First off, I loved the color scheme. I went a bit more muted, to match the feeling of the photo, but used the same basic colors.

I really liked the strong graphic print around the outside of the page, but used a striped paper to frame my photo instead.

I also liked the scalloped piece, but took it all the way across the page, and anchored it with stitching, which was also pulled from the inspiration piece.

OoOh! I love it, Gen! Hopefully I'll be able to get to mine today.

Have a quick question for you though . . . your background . . . is it a white digital paper or simply the white background that you created the layout on? Whenever I see a white background I'm always curious to know if they used a digital paper or if they simply used the white background in the editing software. :)

It's just the standard white background. I use that 90% of the time.

My scraplift page.

I liked the layout of the original page, so... well, I stole it. Outright. I made a template from it and then searched my stash for a similar pattern for the background. I found it in another kit by the same designer, Family Tree. I then filled the rest in using things from that kit, though the kit doesn't have anything scalloped. so I borrowed a piece of rick-rack in a coordinating color from another kit. After I filled everything in I went looking for the right photo in my stash, something family-related. I found a photo of my mother-in-law that I think worked well.

Shannon, what a clever idea to use the ric-rac to mimic the scalloped edge! I'll have to remember that.

Here's my page: Spring is in the Air

I love using stacked photos, so I continued that in my page. The scalloped edge ended up being more like a pinked one, and instead of the cloud an umbrellas, I opted for one larger embellishment (the tree) ... and then I just HAD to add the cute birdie LOL
