everyone shhh...it's a commercial...

Here's an interesting challenge for you. Every year the Superbowl has amazing ads. (Shh, I typically watch the ads and then go do something else during the actual game. ) For this challenge, let's get inspired by one of the ads from the Superbowl.
There is a list of ads from 2011 available here and some teasers for 2012.

And here are some scrappy ideas:
• Scrap your favorite snack, your favorite beverage, something Star Wars themed, about your car, about your job (careerbuilder.com), your cell phone, or even your shoes.
• Use the logo or tagline of one of the companies and have it inspire your page. Could even be the colors of the logo. Or find a print ad from that company and use that to inspire your page.
• One of the ads was about the NFL - scrap about a sporting event, an obsession with a team, fantasy football or even watching sports on TV.

Post your layouts in the gallery AS WELL post a link in this thread to your page. Leave a comment about what you were inspired by! One random winner will receive a $5 gift card to the store and each layout that qualifies will give the poster an entry into the BIG GIVEAWAY. For your layout to be eligible you MUST USE 100% DHD product. You can enter as many times as you like as long as you follow these rules and the theme of the challenge!

Good one, Celeste! I'm always amazed at what the Superbowl ads cost!

Awesome challenge, already have an idea brewing...

Because of the CanCon laws here, the cable companies have to block the Super Bowl ads, even when we're watching a US channel. They insert ads for Canadian products... ads that are nowhere near as creative or entertaining! The sports bars are prohibited from airing satellite channels from the US if the event is televised on a Canadian network. It's frustrating and so unfair!

@Jan: That really stinks! I guess you can watch them on the internet, though.

I love the challenge...very creative! Jan, that sux that you don't get to see the ads -- which are, IMO, the only watch-able part of the whole thing. I bet you can see them afterwards on Youtube....maybe? Hey, is there a "black market" for a bar that shows the commercials? Like during Prohibition in the US, people had to sneak into special members-only clubs to drink -- except for you, it's to watch the ads, lol!

Jennifer, they probably would be quite a market for a bar that bootlegged the ads. I had great hopes the year before last when I took Adam to a Super Bowl party at a huge sports bar that has satellite. The manager was quite sorry to tell us that they'd been threatened by the Canadian Radio and Television Commission if they showed the game on a (ad-block-free) US station. So I do have to content myself with watching them on YouTube a couple of days after the game.
