Our new TV! Moved to a new apartment mid November so we've been using my daughter's TV since the other one was WAY too big to move. FINALLY got one last night- 37" HD LCD TV (I'm not shouting, I promise ) for under $400 at Costco. What a steal! I was getting tired watching my daughter play Halo and Call of Duty or watching her teeny bopper shows.

Wow, Mandi, that's exciting! I'm excited to see the layouts you do with those pictures!
Jeryn, we got a new TV too although we didn't get such a great deal as you did! I'm just glad we got a new one because it allowed us to get rid of our old box TV and bulky entertainment center and now we've mounted the TV over our fireplace which has really opened up our living room - space we'll be needing in just a few weeks to put things like a baby swing and a bouncer!

Probably the most exciting thing so far is starting 365 Days (taking daily self portraits) again and starting, for the first time, a Project Life / Design 365 type project. Ignore the fact I have yet to make a single scrapbook page yet this year but I plan to lots of scrapbooking tonight and this weekend.
(Future excitement is robotics starts tomorrow. Woohoo!)

Angela: Tell us more about this robotics? I like watching that show where they have robotic challenges.

Well, have to say my 2012 "moment" was picking up my "new" (used) car. Hadn't planned on a new car, but a screw-up from AAA (attempting to jump the car, but put the connectors on backwards!) resulted in the airbag deployment system and electrics being blown out ... and not able to fix. Oh well, now I have a cute, sporty red car that I'm zipping around in. Picked it up January 3rd. Now looking online for fuzzy dice.

There are MANY differen robotics programs but the program I work with is called the FIRST Robotics Competiton or FRC. Teams of high school students work with professional engineers (such as myself) to design, built, and test a robot in just six weeks. The robots are approximately 5 feet tall and weigh 120 pounds and are controlled, most often, using wireless joysticks. I could go on and on and on about how great a program it is but I'll leave it at this: I started in 7th grade as a student participant and now, at 27, am still involved as a mentor. (More info here about FRC and other FIRST competitoins for elementary through HS students: http://www.usfirst.org)
