I'm hosting a baby shower for one of my best friends, and I have most things planned. But I wanted to ask you guys for some memorable, creative or just really fun things you did or saw at baby showers in the past.
I have a few games (present Bingo, a word scramble), cute decorations, favors planned out, and food. I'm also going to make my Cookie-less Fortune Cookies, which is a basket full of cute baby sayings and quotes printed on long paper strips.
My friend doesn't want any of the games where you guess how big she is with toilet paper, separate pins and rice, melt candybars in baby diapers, etc. She likes more laid-back kind of stuff, which is why I am going for the word games/etc.
Just wondering if you had any clever or unique ideas around baby advice, word games, etc.? Please share! She's having a boy, if that changes your answer!

My favorite game is the tube sock game. Get a bunch of (new) baby stuff (food, pacifier, onesie, spoon, bib, etc) and put them in a large tube sock. Pass the sock around and everyone has to guess what's inside by just feeling and they write it down. I give bonus points if they guess the right color/flavor. At the end, the mommy gets to keep all the treats. I give a prize to the person that gets the most points.

my sis in laws thought of a pretty funnny game for my shower. They had 3 teams of 2 and they had to dress a baby in different layers of clothes but as a team so one girl stood behind the other and put her arms under the others arm pits and dressed it like that. It was pretty hilarious to watch.

I saw some cute photos the other day -- if she's waiting to find out what the sex is -- you can make a cake that is half blue and half pink -- whatever side she cuts into thats supposed to be the gender of the baby. Not really a game - but kind of fun.
I always like things where you can get to know the other people at the party. Something like putting the names of famous babies on cards and then they have to stick a card to their forehead and then figure out what baby it is by asking other people questions. Not sure if that's to intense for what she's looking for.
Have fun though!

thanks for the ideas, ladies! I was surprised when she called me and said she'd suddenly be into more exciting games, like the one where you make everyone drink juice from a baby bottle and the winner is the one who chugs the fastest! So...maybe nothing is too crazy now!
