Project 365: More than just photos
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m passionate about recording my life (and the life of my loved ones) not only through pictures but also through words. One of the reasons that I love Project 365 is that it makes me take notice of the little things that add up to tell the whole picture of my family, in a way that just snapping events and the occasional portrait can’t do. But a photo can only say so much; words, even a handful, can add another layer of meaning and depth.
Have you seen Habit? It’s a lovely blog that operates on the photo-a-day model, with one addition: a brief (the ideal is one sentence) summary of the day’s activities. Sometimes these sentences are related to what’s in the photo, and sometimes they refer to the overall day. Regardless, those brief sentences offer illumination and insight in a way that the photo alone can’t achieve.
