Tutorial: Hybrid Masking

Hi!

I’d like to share a card I made where I created a cloudy sky on some yummy grid paper from Melissa Esplin’s GORGEOUS kit, Garden Trellis – Plain Papers.

I drew some clouds and cut them out. I positioned the cloud on the grid pattern paper and while holding it in place used my sponge and dabbed blue ink along the edges of my clouds and blended outwards.

I continued this until I covered my grid pattern paper and created my cloudy sky.

And here’s the finished project.

This ADORABLE bird is from Jen Allyson’s Design 365 January Kit. I used Glossy Accents on the bird’s polka dots to make them pop and I cut the wing from another bird that I had printed out and added some faux stitching using my white gel pen. I then adhered it with foam pop dots for some added dimension. Because I cut the bird out I had to draw its legs with a black fine marker.

Well there you have it…very simple but I think an awesome effect!

Thanks for stopping by!
