How to use word strips to make Hybrid Cards

Hi Design House Digital Fans, bossy Joscie here to share some cute (even if I do say so myself) hybrid cards I whipped up with Gennifer Bursett’s Sweet Child of Mine Kits.

I also used:

Printer; Big Shot; Crop-o-dile; White Craft Felt; Paper Trey Ink: Flower Dies, Kraft Cardstock, Vintage Buttons; Creative Charms Gradient Gem Brads; Sewing Machine; Scor Pal, bone folder; Tonic Paper Trimmer; American Crafts: Textured White Cardstock, Foam Adhesive; Neenah White Cardstock; Stampin’ Up! Grey Cardstock, Heart punch; Divine Twine: Green Apple, Cotton Candy; Paper Piercer; Needle; Glimmer Glaze in Icicle

Baby Clothesline Cards

  • add a little Glimmer Glaze in Icicle to heart and star on onesies
  • when dried, machine stitch over word strip and tape strip for interest

  • I also created these cards by printing several word strips from the kit.
  • I cut them out and used them as sentiments for my cards.
  • I also embellished them with flowers die cut out of felt and gems from creative charms.

  • I added a button with twine to go with the “cute as a button” sentiment

  • I added a handstitched border of divine twine around the pattern and a little stitch to secure the heart.

I hope you’re inspired to make some hybrid cards and use word strips for sentiments! Please let me know if you have any questions.
