A Little Birdie Told Me

DHD birdie front

Hi! Carina here! I’d like to introduce, Jane Beijo, who is part of our new hybrid Decorator team here at DHD. We are excited for all the new projects that will be featured in the classroom and blog. We’ll be sure and share more about Jane and the rest of the team soon!

I think you’ll agree (when you see all the eye candy!) that Jane has a talent for hybrid. These projects are simply delectable and makes me want to get out the scissors and glue! Take a look! She shares a few steps in the process of making her card: A Little Birdie Told Me.

Jane’s Tips for A Little Birdie Told Me Card:

Here are just a few tips for creating this card (not the full instructions) so you can vary it to meet your needs.

1. Print the bird out twice (bird from Baby Mine by Carina Gardner). Cut out one bird from one copy and just the wing from the other.

2. Distress the whole bird using a fingernail.

3. Add glitter. I added mine to the wing by first putting some glossy accents and then sprinkling some glitter over it. Wait a little while and then pat the glitter down to lock it in. You can also use clear liquid glue.

4. Add the wing with a pop dot.

5. I cut out my pattened paper to fit the base of my card and adhered it. I also tied string into the base.

6.I cut out my tag using Shapeabilityies “standard tag,” embossed it with a cuttlebug folder and sanded it a bit.

7. I made my sentiment quickly in a Word document.

They use the Baby Mine kit (proceeds go to a good cause—see the post below!). You can see her helpful hints for making her cards at Design House Digital (her first post is here). [...]
