Meet Jennifer Barksdale
You’ve probably seen our newest Decorator in various scrapbooking magazines and on various paper design teams. We’re super excited to have her join our fabulous team! I’d like to introduce Jennifer Barksdale. Let’s get to know her a little bit better!
Name: Jennifer Barksdale
What camera do you use? Canon 40D and my iPhone
What program do you create in? Adobe Photoshop CS3
How long have you been digital scrapbooking? Consistently since 2010
How would you describe your scrapbook style? It’s sophisticated and ever-changing. It depends on the products, my mood, the photos, or the colors.
Where do you create, and when? I create at my desk in the dining room and usually in the morning when the kids are at school or still asleep. Occasionally, I’ll have a scrapbooking DAY because I procrastinated on a project!
What’s your ‘go-to’ technique or trick? I like using brushes (i.e mists, paint) or recoloring an element to match my page.
What’s your favorite color combination? I like all colors, but I tend to gravitate to neutrals or toned down colors. I couldn’t work with neons and I have trouble with purple!
Do you start your layouts with pictures, a story, or products? All of the above!
Where do you find your inspiration? Everywhere! I find inspiration from online galleries, magazines, clothes, TV, artwork, and from the products I use.
Do you prefer movies or books? I don’t do much of either, but I’d have to say movies, because I haven’t picked up a book in years.
What’s your favorite snack? Plain M&Ms or popcorn.
What type of music do you like? I like a bit of everything. Pop, country, hip-hop, soft rock, jazz – I like most of it.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Okinawa. It’s part of my heritage and we really enjoyed living there for four years.
What five adjectives describe you best? I’m an easy-going, humble, practical, indecisive introvert.
