Hybrid Christmas Mini Album

We will be spending the holidays with my family and I want to leave my Mum a reminder when we say goodbye, so I decided to pre-make a mini-album which I will later fill with photos from Christmas Day.

I used Deena Rutter’s Happy Christmas kit, as well as one tag element from the free Christmas kit.

Once I decided to use the Teresa Collins bracket album, I printed out some of the patterned papers to make the pages, by printing onto both sides of cardstock weight white paper. I designed journaling spots and photo mats in Photoshop and also printed those out.

I used one of the Theresa Collins die-cut pages as a template to cut my own pages out from the patterned paper. Once I had the pages done, I printed and cut out the journaling spots and photo mats. Then I put the pages together alternating journaling spots and photo mats. I added holiday stickers to the bottom of each photo mat.

Finally I assembled the album using my Bind-it-All machine.

I plan to crop my photos to 4″x4″ to fit the photo mats. I was actually going for a sort of Polaroid look.

I tried to stick with a fairly muted palette since the photos from Christmas Day will probably be quite colourful! I’ll be sure to take photos of the final book to share before I give it to my Mum!
