Hybrid Butterfly Wall Art
It’s no secret that I adore butterflies. For me they represent growth, wisdom and inner beauty. I love the idea of decorating the home with butterflies and being able to put my own personal touch to the design. In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to create gorgeous hybrid butterfly wall art that you can do easily for the home or as a gift.
1.) The Butterfly Wall Art kit
2.) Printer
3.) Craft Knife
4.) Card stock. (two contrasting colors.)
5.) Picture Frame (I sized down my design to a small 4.5 x 6.5 frame for this tutorial but you can use any size you like)
1.) Open up your Butterfly Wall Art kit and design your butterflies the way you want. The butterfly wings can be customized by adding your own papers and brushes to them or you can leave them blank. There will be a cutting guide for you to make your wings pop off the page.
2.) Once you are done designing the butterflies. Print out your design and with a craft knife carefully cut the perimeter of the wings. Taking heed to only cut on the guide lines. Do not cut the inner part of the wings. I used the included word art design layer for the inside of my butterflies and then added eyelets & letter stamps after cutting.
3.) Open up your frame and fit in a background paper. This can be any paper you want. It will be what is shown under the wings. You can add patterned paper, fabric, a contrasting card stock or do tone-on-tone for a subtle look. I used a dark Kraft.
4.) Fit your butterfly design on top of your background paper and put your frame back together without the glass so your wings can pop up and dazzle somebody ^_^

Just follow the same steps as above and instead of using a frame you will be using the tag template provided. Here I decided to use the wings as a template for a pink polka dot paper.
