4play

Welcome to another 4play, where the Design House Decorators showcase four amazing kits from the DHD store! I hope everyone survived Halloween and now we can start gearing up for the holidays!  The kits I chose have a lot of fall colors, but are still very versatile and gender neutral, so the possibilities are endless!  I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with, so let’s get on with the inspiration!

Here are the kits we’ll be working with this week:

Robyn Meierotto – Painted Textures

Erica Coombs – Autumnal Bits & Pieces

Karla Dudley – Album Cards

Sara Schmutz – Give Thanks Patterned Paper

This is the page I came up with:

I love Sara’s papers and I actually had a tough time only using FOUR of them – they are just so yummy!  Robyn’s painted masks were so fun to use and I love the endless possibilities they give.  The colors of Karla’s album cards and Erica’s ribbons worked so well with the papers and my photo that it went together quite easily – Love that!

Here is Sarah Hemmert‘s fun page:

Who shares, “I had fun playing with Robyn’s overlays, I tried out several and played with the blend modes- I found this combination purely by accident. When I added the teal elements I knew I wanted to keep going with the yellow and teal combo. I love how Sarah’s papers worked out to make “ribbons” to add to my layout. And, Karla’s cards gave me plenty of space to add the details I wanted to record.”

Next we have Missy Backues‘ lovely page:

Missy said, “After looking through all goodness in these 4 kits, I first picked Sara’s really cool green paper as my base. Then I added Robyn’s painted stars and made them white to go with my daughter’s dress. A frame and stitch from Erica and an excellent album card from Karla made a quick layout come together. I added some dark stars on the right at the last minute to try to add in something unexpected. I am really happy with the results.”

And this great page from Aria Andrus:

Who had this to say:  ”The kits Mandi chose for this 4play feature presented a fun challenge for me. I combined clipped a brown color to Robyn’s painted textures and layered that over Sara’s patterned papers. I used Karla’s cards for the title and journaling and just to add some neutral solid color peeking out from the edges of the layout. Erica’s frames made the pictures pop out from the page more while providing elements for the rest of the layout.”

(Congratulations to Beatrice for winning this week’s DHD Gift Certificate for participating in last week’s challenge with her layout Jack at 5.)

Don’t forget that today only (ends Monday at midnight PST), you can get each of these kits for only a dollar, and one is even FREE!  So go grab them, and then play along.  Upload a layout using these four kits to the DHD gallery by next Sunday, then come back here and post a link to it.  Not only will you learn to stretch your kits, but you could win a gift certificate to DHD!
