4 Play
Welcome to the next edition of 4 Play, a fun challenge where we choose 4 different kits and show you 4 uniquely different layouts using ONLY the chosen kits! Sometimes choosing which kits to use together comes easily, and other times it’s a bit harder. This week it came easily! I started with the perfect mix of papers in the kit All the Best by Kate Teague, added on the elements Hotel California Elements by Deena Rutter, I thought having some paint would be fun so I chose Toolbox Mists Vol. 4 by Gennifer Bursett, and finally chose a few more elements (and all the fun arrows) in the Direction Elements kit by Robyn Meierotto.

Let’s look at some awesome pages made only with these 4 kits!
First is Missy Backues’ layout and she said: ”The arrows in the elements for these cool kits made me think right away of how my daughter has had to switch directions this year because of switching schools. I’m sure it feels to her like she is being pulled in different directions, but of course we hope that she likes the changes. The elements in the kits were a perfect way to convey that feeling. I also colored the mist in her favorite shade of blue and added Robyn’s alpha for the title. These kits really went together well.”
Next we have a layout by Tiffany Bodily: “I really enjoyed the arrows in this week’s selection. I decided to use them repeatedly on my page to draw all the attention inward to the photos. I also liked the earthy tones with a splash of sky blue in these kits & feel that the colors worked well with the fall colors of my subject. I love the mists chosen in the 4-Play. It is nice to have the versatility of a product like this to balance out a layout when you can select the color you wish to mask it with. I needed just a little more orange on my layout and the mist worked perfectly.”
Here is a layout by new Decorator Anna Drozd: “I had this great new drawing of my little nephew waiting to be scrapped and these kits proved perfect for the job. First, the colours matched the drawing really well. The misty frame from Gen’s kit added some great pencil touches and brushes from Robyn’s kit reminded me of some crayons, so I used them too. The other elements helped this layout look like a page taken from a notebook. Even wordart went well with the picture”
Finally here is my page: I love color but when I decided on this photo for this layout I didn’t want color to compete too much with my photo so I chose some muted papers and elements to compliment my page. I love how these kits had both bright and muted colors. Arrows are always fun to help lead your eye directly where you want it to go. I used one of the papers to color my mists, added some edge detail and my page was complete.
