4 Play!

Welcome to the next edition of 4 Play, a fun challenge where we choose 4 different kits and show you 4 uniquely different layouts using ONLY the chosen kits! I started with a bright, fun paper pack, Giggles & Grins, because that is always where I start when beginning a page with the paper. Then I added in the Kraft Fun Day element pack because it went so well with the papers. I knew I wanted some buttons, so I chose the Notions Element kit just for those. Last a paint splatter was in order, so I grabbed the Everyday Celebrations Journaling Bits kit.

Here’s what Jennifer Valencia had to say: “I loved the bright colors in these kits and decided to match them up with some birthday party photos. I matted a solid blue against a solid brown from Karen’s Giggles and Grins paper kit, and added some flair with a few embellishments from Audrey’s kit. The painty splotches are awesome, kind of like the splatters and daubs of frosting that get everywhere after 15 kids get their share of cake and cupcakes, except without the greasy residue. :) I used a few buttons from Jen’s kit to anchor text at the top right, and added visual interest (at least, it’s interesting to ME, ha!) with Robyn’s stitching around the borders of the page. Overall I like my pages to be relatively simple, with vivid colors and a small-but-perfect collection of embellies that enhance my photos. Once again, our fab designers here at DHD came through with the right kind of stuff for my style. Fun times, I tell you!”

Here’s what Jen Papadimitriou had to say: “I love the four kits Celeste chose and all the colours match up perfectly! The first thing I noticed was the multiple kraft frame and found it to be really handy for the four photos I wanted to use. I dressed it up with some patterns and elements and used the journaling lines to finish it off!”

Here’s what Jeryn Carlisi had to say: “I love how these 4 kits go so well together from the colors to the elements! I was able to fit the star embellishment perfectly under the the kraft postage frames, which is my favorite part of this page.”

Next up is one from me – Celeste Smith: “I actually went at this page entirely differently than I usually do. I focused on the word art “Best Day Ever” in the Kraft Fun Day Elements kit by Robyn Meierotto. Then I grabbed the journaling card as a mat for the title. I had to find a story to match the title. So I went through my photos and chose these three photos of my “boys.” Then I simply built my page around them. Karen’s papers were perfect for the photos. Last I threw in some buttons from Jen’s Notions kit and the paint splatter from Audrey’s Everyday Journaling Bits as the icing on my page! I really enjoyed scrapping using only 4 kits. It is fun to try and choose a few bits from each kit then make them work on your page!  Give it a try!”

Don’t forget that today only (ends Monday at midnight PST), you can get each of these kits for only a dollar, and one is even FREE! So go grab them, and then play along. Upload a layout using these four kits to the DHD gallery by Sunday, then come back here and post a link to it. Not only will you learn to stretch your kits, but you could win a gift certificate to DHD!

Congrats to Christy86 last week’s winner!
