4 Play

Hi ;-) It’s Anna here with our weekly Monday 4 Play challenge.

How does it work? Each week we choose 4 kits to mix & match and scrap exclusively from these kits. The challenge is to ONLY use items from these 4 kits.  These great kits are one sale only today so don’t miss out! Below you will see inspiration from the team and at the end of the week a random winner will be chosen to win a gift certificate from DHD!

I’ve chosen the following kits for you this week:

Splendid Mini by

Simply Lifted – Polaroid Frames set 01 by

Sweet Life by

Family Gatherings by

And here are the layouts made by us  – .

The first is by Katherine Hansen:

She said: “I love the playful, elements in this week’s 4Play kit selections – but especially the little wordstrips and banners, which are a favorite of mine. I had fun layering lots of pieces, and the curl on Angie’s Polaroids was the perfect place to sneak one of Robyn’s paper flowers right under the corner of the frame. Although I had some pink elements on the page, I wanted to use a photo of my son and his cousin – not what you would normally associate with pink. So, to balance out the color palette, I loved that Sara’s papers and elements included some brown/grey items. Kate’s paper was a perfect neutral for the background – a little pattern, but nothing that would overwhelm the layout. I also extracted the word “happiness” from her wordart – the perfect finishing touch.”

Another is by Mary Rogers:

She said: “I love the colors of the kit combinations this week. They worked so well with my photo of my niece. I am a simple scrapper with a bit of grunge so I kept the use of embellishments to a minimum. Using Angie’s frame to start, resizing it just a bit, I then placed it on layered papers from Kate’s kit. I then added Robyn’s stitched border, Kate’s brad and Sarah’s delightful tag (recolored). My journaling balanced out the page. Thanks Anna for such fabulous selections this week.”

The third one is by Aria Andrus:

She said:” All the kits Anna chose just went wonderfully together. I loved Robyn’s elements and the happy theme to them made me want to use happy and bright colored paper like orange and yellow. To give the layout a bit of texture, I layered some papers behind the photo and Angie’s frames were perfect for helping the photo stand out on the page.”

And the last one is from me:

When I saw this great Kate’s frame tag with Family I knew what the topic of this layout would be. I chose a photo showing off my Sister’s family having fun together, as the Robyn’s and Sarah’s banner tags matched it up perfectly. I also used one of  Angie’s great Polaroid’s frames and went for simple background paper to put focus on the photo. Cute, patterned paper from Sarah’s kit and stitched ribbons by Robyn’s were perfect to add freshness and a touch of colour.

So if you have great family photos to scrap or feel inspired by the kits above in any other way, take this challenge and play. I can’t wait what you’ve come up to.

Don’t forget that today only (ends Monday at midnight PST), you can get each of these kits for only a dollar, and one is even FREE! So go grab them, and then play along. Upload a layout using these four kits to the DHD gallery by next Sunday, then come back here and post a link to it. Not only will you learn to stretch your kits, but you could win a gift certificate to DHD!

and …

Congratulations to Beatrice for winning a DHD gift certificate for last weeks 4 Play challenge for her layout.
