4 Play

Hi there, it’s Jennifer bringing you a new 4 Play challenge.  Each week we choose 4 kits to mix & match and scrap exclusively from these kits. The challenge is to ONLY use items from these 4 kits.  This challenge is not only for Decorators, but we invite you to play too. These glorious kits are one sale for one day only so don’t miss out!

As a mom of 3 boys I just had to pick some good old boyish kits for this week! I picked a few staple products as well, because even if you don’t have boys, these kits are a good thing to add to your digital collection! Agnes’ stitches are one of my very favorites, I use these on almost every layout! Mye’s kraft alpha is another new favorite, it is a fun way to add in your title or little letters/numbers for embellishments! Juliana’s craft time for boys and Erica’s Krafty boy are both quintessential boy kits!!

Our first layout is by Celeste Smith:

Celeste says: “I love how these four kits mixed up in all their boy glory! As a mother to boys, I’m always drawn to the more masculine color palettes. I used the flags in Ju’s kit more as a template and lines them up below my blocks to create a border. I clipped some of Erica’s papers to them as well as Ju’s to mix it up a bit. I love how Mye’s alphabet added my son’s initial to the page. I’m such a fan of cutouts! Agnes’ stitched border adds the perfect final touch – keeping the eye focused back on the middle of the page.”
Second is from Jennifer Barksdale:

Jennifer says: “I absolutely loved these kits together and it was perfect for a page about meeting my cousin’s baby. I masked Ju’s frame with Erica’s yellow paper and then used Agnes’ stitches around it. I recolored Ju’s stitched alphas to brown and masked Mye’s cutout alphas with the green chevron paper putting Erica’s gray paper underneath and Agnes’ stitching on top. Finally, I couldn’t resist adding the cute banner to my page! This kit has lots of cute elements that I wanted to use them all!”
Next up is Missy Backues:

Missy says: “These 4 kits go great together for girl pages too! I love the distressed papers in Erica and Juliana’s kits so I had to use more than one. I used a cloud element in Juliana’s kit to create a fun scallop look to the edges of the solid paper. After layering my papers together, I just picked out a bunch of fun trims and elements. I used Agnes’ stitching to ‘fasten” it all down, digitally, of course. Then I added a title using Mye’s alpha and a little bit of info about the photo to finish off this layout.    “

And finally one from me, Jennifer Hignite:

Don’t forget that today only (ends Monday at midnight PST), you can get each of these kits for only a dollar, and one is even FREE! So go grab them, and then play along. Upload a layout using these four kits to the DHD gallery by next Sunday, then come back here and post a link to it.
