Here is this week’s 4 Play:
Amalia Papers by Celeste Knight
Enjoy the Journey by Karen Funk

Layout by Sarah Hemmert
I used Celeste’s paper as an overlay on my middle layer- I wanted some yellow but I didn’t want it to be flat. I did the same thing for the yellow block under the photos. To make the letters I used one of Karen’s tags and turned and lined up the flourishes with the sides of the letters.
I love how Audrey’s font is so close to the word art pieces in Karen’s kit, it made the tags and the journaling work seamlessly.
I created the brads myself just adjusting the bevel and emboss settings on the circles. Plus for the shadows- Gen’s Toolbox shadows are the bomb! (then I played with the warp & smudged up the shadows)
Let’s take a look at what my fellow Decorators did with these kits:

I started my layout with this awesome leaf print paper from Celeste. Then I added a few elements with color to pop off the page. I used my color picker tool to pick out the yellow color from Karen’s elements to use as the background for Agi’s amazing worn alpha. That was easy to do since each letter is a layered file. Then I finished my layout with a little title using Audrey’s font. I love fonts.

I love to use alphas as embellishments too. I took Agnes’ worn out alphabet letter “O” and placed it on the edge under the ric rac for the yellow scallops on the left side. Karen Funk’s embellishments are so sweet and simply beautiful. I also love the whimsy feel of Audrey’s font. This layout just fell together once I decided to put a yellow wash over the photo to tie together all the grey and yellow.

I freely admit to loving Celeste’s patterned papers, so (of course!) I had to use every single one. I put them together to form a hexagon background, randomly mixing the colors and patterns. Because the background is complex, I went with a very simple cluster using a few of Karen’s tags, and added the simple bow for a little dimension. Audrey’s hand-written font was great for my journaling, and even though Agi’s alpha is actually templates (for easy modification) the color was perfect as-is!
(Congrats to Treasurebachs for winning this week’s DHD Gift Certificate for participating in last week’s challenge with her layout Proud to be Chi O.)
