This week, when we had the chance to play with Meredith Fenwick’s PlayZone kit, we definitely played. And then played some more. Can you blame us?
With it’s bright and cheery color palette and fun, vibrant patterns, this kit will work for so many occasions! This also means that you have a plethora of layouts for inspiration this week, so let’s get started!

I snapped this pic of my husband a few weeks ago, and a non-blinking photo is a rare and wondrous thing. Aging the papers keeps the layout from looking too juvenile, and a small section from one of them forms a perfect iconic accent. I stretched the word art across the page for a border and added my title. An unusual crop left plenty of room for my journaling, which is this month’s Journaling Challenge.

Heather Guenther says this about her layout: As soon as I saw the friends graphic wordart strip in this kit, I knew that I wanted to use it for a layout about a recently visit from friends. The graphic styling to the wordart made me want to keep my layout very geometric so the mixture of sizings of the colored frames seemed perfect to make a frame grouping. I adore the fun green word paper that I framed it beside their photos as when I think of this weekend of friendship, I “smile” & “laugh”. Such a bright & cheerful kit for so many different types of layouts. It is a kit filled with fun colors, bright patterns and grounding neutrals and basics to make it a wonderfully, well rounded kit.

Decorator Tiffany Bodily shares this fun and fabulous page: I used the word bubble as a cloud and extracted a yellow dot easily from the dotted paper since it shared the same color background and I didn’t have to be exact. I then used this dot for a sun. The title of this kit PlayZone is perfect for creating playful pages and made putting this page together quick and easy.

Here’s what Carey Bridges has to say about her layout: The playful papers and elements in this kit were perfect for photos of my son and his friends at track & field day. The colors and design elements added to the “boy” feel. I wanted to use a little of each paper on the page, so I chose a linear design to keep the focus on the fun photos and great papers.

Katherine Hansen walks us through her process: For this page, I played around with Meredith’s papers, extracting the stars and the couple. I had a picture of me and the hubby (rare LOL), and when I saw that I just “happened” to have a red shirt on, I thought it would go well with the kit …a playful, but loving page.

Lori Pickens wraps us up, with her thoughts: As soon as I saw the fun papers and bright colors, I knew they would make a great layout for my cousin. I added the alpha on top of the border decal to make my own title. I went back and added the frames to add some geometric interest to the layout. The thought bubbles made a perfect frame for my journaling.
Hopefully you’ve enjoyed seeing all of these layouts, and they’ve inspired you to look at a kit in a new way! From hubbies, to kids, to sports, to adult friends… this kit can truly do it all! Since I absolutely love the way Tiffany created the sun and cloud from this kit, answer me this: Is the sun out and shining where you live today, or peeking from behind a cloud? One random commentator will win PlayZone when I post next week’s layouts!
(Congrats to Amy, whose love of peonies has won her a Gift Certificate to DHD for Garden Trellis – The Collection!)

Sun ? What’s that ? Today all cloudy, a little rain (we had enough yesterday) and very cold (not even 10°C in the middle of May ??)
Where is Spring ?
BTW Love what you did with kit !
I loved what Tiff did with the sun and cloud too! Considering I work in a pod and don’t rank high enough to sit anywhere near a window, I couldn’t say for sure if the sun is shining or not. It’s supposed to rain most of the day here, so my bet is no.
I love the kit!
It’s cool, cloudy and rainy here…it’s feeling a lot more like March than it is mid-May!
I seriously love the first one. It is so simple yet surprising at the same time. Thanks for stretching my scrapbooking mind.
great stuff!
I have this in my stash and I think I will scrap with it today!!! Great post!
I love how this one kit covered so many different groups! Fantastic!
What fun layouts. Love them all!
Believe it or not, we woke up to snow today, here in the Boulder, Colorado area. Very nearly got a school delay, and it’s 2 weeks and 1 day from the start of Summer vacation…. Blech!! The good news is that we’ll be looking forward to mid-70′s in just a few more days.
Rain today but those bright colors are always in demand.
(just look at my gallery!) Those colors would look great for
our son’s beach wedding coming up next month!
The weatherman said it was supposed to be sunny here but I am still not seeing it. Granted it is only noon so I guess I can give him a bit of a break but we are dying for some nice weather here in the the NW!
Oh, very cool kit! Sun???? What’s that? I’ve heard about it….. I hear it looks like a big orange ball up in the sky. Rain???? I can tell you all about rain! Wet, ugly, damp, nasty, miserable, messy! That about sums up the weather here in New York. Thanks for the chance to win. It really is a fabulous kit!
in the philippines, the sun is out and shining
