1 Kit, 4 Ways – Le Cirque Embellishments

1kit4waysI’m really excited about this week’s kit – Le Cirque Embellishments, by Sara Schmutz.

The soft tones and vintage-style embellishments are super cute, and super original! Stay tuned, for your chance to win it!

I don’t get too many chances to hit the circus, so I used a play on words for my title, when I created this layout about some special friends of mine:

TicketToUs-copy

I fit all of the tickets together along the right side of my page, putting them together like a puzzle. I played around with the coloring on my photos, which is a great way to tie together photos from different events, and then added some journaling, explaining why I think we’ve been friends for over twenty years.

Next up, Heather Guenther has this showstopper:

She filled the layout with her amazing photo, which she also processed a bit differently to add drama. The frame brings your attention right to the focal point of the photo, while the row of tents is explained in her journaling, all about where her mind wanders when she sees piers. What a great layout: a totally random memory, explained in her words, that might have gone unspoken otherwise.

Jennifer Valencia takes us for a ride with her layout:

She shows us how gorgeous it can be to pair yesterday’s embellishments with a great photo from today! The strong colors in her photo pair nicely with the muted tones of the kit, and the journaling tells about her daughter’s recent trip to the zoo, complete with carousel ride. I love the enlarged photo, too!

Carey Bridges does get to the circus, and has these great photos to prove it!

Yum! Who doesn’t love cotton candy? The clustering of her elements and casual arrangement keeps it fun, just the way a circus page should be! The strong, graphic lines of the red mat ground the page, and the line of multi-colored dots keep the eye moving across the page.

Ready for the question of the week? Tell me the last thing you bought tickets for, and you could win this kit… your daughter’s dance recital? A movie? An Olympic event? A trip to Ireland?

The last tickets I bought? My daughter and I will be going to see The Lion King in September when it comes to Salt Lake City!
