1 Kit, 4 Ways: Country Carnival

Hopefully you snagged some great deals during our Christmas in July promotion, but we’re back this week with a bang, dropping you right back into some summer fun. Our newest collaboration is called Country Carnival, and it’s brought to you by and :

With it’s super fun old-timey feel and slightly muted summer colors, it’s a great kit for so many things! Let’s take a look at some layouts put together by our creative team, the DHD Decorators:

Layout by Tiffany Bodily

Tiffany says: I loved the old time appeal of this kit because that is exactly the feeling that amusement parks and fairs evoke in me – a feeling of nostalgia. This kit was super easy to work with because the elements and papers harmonized so well and did not overwhelm the photo I decided to use. The only addition I made was to use Robyn’s In Stitches – Red&Cream – Elements. To allow the pattern paper to show through the Ferris wheel element at the bottom of the page, I selected and then deleted the background portion leaving just the lines.

Layout by Aria Andrus

Aria says: I loved all the primary colors in this kit. Since I don’t have any carnival type photos, I did a different take this layout. Blue and red are some of my son’s favorite colors to wear so I found a photo that had colors that would match the kit. I also used the July Blueprint as my template. To create the two-toned title, I placed two identical type layers on top of each other, changed the color on one, rasterized both layers and then erased some on the lettering until I achieved the result I was looking for. This collaboration kit is fabulous for carnival photos but can also be used for so much more!

Layout by Jennifer Hignite

Jennifer says: The colors of this kit are what originally drew me to it, I love the all American feel of the red white and blue. The little details the ladies put into this collab are so whimsical and fun, just perfect to scrap photos of a recent trip we took to the fair. I used bits and pieces of Robyn’s papers to frame the entire layout. Celeste’s frames made it simple to showcase more than just one photo!

Layout by Mandi Buchanan

Mandi says: Robyn and Celeste came up with such a fun collaboration and since we were at the carnival recently, I was excited to see what I could come up with. The papers and tags worked so well together that I was able to include lots of photos and keep it all tied together. I used Robyn’s Borders & Blocks as masks and her Chipper alphabet for my title.

Awesome, right? So, are you ready for your chance to win Country Carnival Part 1 and Country Carnival Part 2? Comment here, and answer this:

What’s the last food on a stick you ate? And would you have it again?

We’ll be back next week with our winner, plus be sure to check back this Monday for a special 1 Kit, MANY Ways, when we introduce our newest designer to The House! In the meantime, you can get sales on Robyn’s and Celeste’s entire stores, and be sure to check out the free kits and $1 kits, because everything goes back to regular price on Monday!

(Congrats to Janneke, who wins the collab from our last 1K 4W! Have fun!)
