1 Kit, 4 Ways: Cool Summer
It’s time for another 1 Kit, 4 Ways, and with that, another great collaboration. This week, I bring you Cool Summer, by Angie Hinksman and Karla Dudley:
With its unusual, muted color scheme, it’s a fun twist on a traditional subject. I can’t wait to use it! Let’s take a look at this week’s layouts, by the DHD Decorators:

Christy says: “As soon as I saw the colors in this kit, I thought of our bridesmaid’s dresses at my sister-in-law’s wedding. The teals looked great together and the black lace added a real elegant touch. Since it was a winter wedding, the white lace looked great layered under a few pieces of paper. To top it off, I loved the look of the shimmery white flowers and it was fun scattering them around in different sizes. Love the elegant/whimsical result that these two kits helped create!”

Sarah says: “I love the colors in this Collab, but I was drawn to the neutrals that were mixed in. I really wanted to focus on the photo, a long exposure to capture the movement of the sparkler. I used the file folder tab as a mask for the wildflower paper- to add just a bit of the colors. The word-art brush made the perfect title to finish off the page.”

Lori says: “Cool Summer is such a fun collab kit! The bright blues and greens immediately made me think of these summer pictures of my bright-eyed little nephew. I love fun, funky frames and they can make a simple layout really showcase your favorite photos. Karla and Angie packed it full of fun elements that can be mixed and matched for lots of fun accents.”

Jen says: “This collaboration contains some really gorgeous papers, so I decided to use a lot of them in a blocked design because I couldn’t resist them! The colors went really well with this photo of my daughter and I on vacation last summer. I just loved all of Karla’s handwritten brushes, but the huge “S” in this “Summer” brush demanded the spotlight and so my title was born! I added a few more amazing embellies and a brush from Tiffany Tillman’s Barely There Brushes 2 to finish the page off.”
