1 Kit, 4 Ways: Birthday Bash

It’s Wednesday, and we’re back with another great collaboration. This week, and have teamed up to bring you Birthday Bash:

So bright and cheerful, isn’t it? Let’s take a look at this week’s layouts, brought to you by the Design House Digital Decorators:

Layout by Jennifer Valencia

Jennifer says: “I loved the bright colors, but for this layout I chose to go nearly monochromatic in blue — I selected many of the blues to go along with a photo of my daughter in blue on Easter. I layered some of the different papers from Karen and Sara to get a variety of textures and shades, and added some yellow elements for a pop of contrast color. I love the neutral paper for the background; the worn spots add some fun texture and visual interest without being overwhelming.”

Layout by Jen Papadimitriou

Jen says: “I loved all the bright, vibrant colours of this Collab! There were a lot of fun patterns and elements, so it was pretty easy to put this one together! I used the cute bows as anchors for some of my elements and found the banner bound all the pieces together perfectly!”

Sarah says: “I am using a lot of Kraft backgrounds lately, so Karen and Sara didn’t disappoint! I love the bright colors on the neutral background. I chose to use mostly blue and red, with a few pops of yellow. The happy coincidence is that the cake was also mostly blue. I loved using all the patterned papers behind the photos- they look like pieces of ribbon. I had to play with some masks and layers to get the tag to thread onto my ribbon- and I really like how it turned out. As usual, I played with the shadows to give the page a bit more depth.”

Layout by Arielle Hemp

Arielle says: “I have been into neutral backgrounds lately, so I loved that this bright kit had a kraft paper, too! The papers were all so yummy, I happily used Audrey Neal’s Banners Galore Template so I could show off as many of them as possible! I reduced the size of the tags from the template. I also decided to try to make the numbered “flair” look a little transparent, so part of the birthday banner and washi tape were layered (I also lowered their opacity) over the flair. The stitching was added for a little extra detail.”

What great layouts, huh? Are you ready for your chance to win Part 1 and Part 2? Comment here, and answer this:

Who’s birthday will you be celebrating next?

My husband is turning the big 38 in a couple of months, which is the next one in our family. I’m totally his much-younger trophy wife. :)

Be sure to stop by this weekend when Karen’s and Sara’s shops will be on sale. You can score some good deals on all their products, and even grab a few freebies and dollar kits! Don’t delay, though, everything goes back to regular price on Monday.

(Congrats to Debi, who wins last week’s kits. Have fun!)
