1 Kit, 4 Ways: Autumn Afternoon
Another Thursday, and another gorgeous collab! This week, Mye De Leon and Agnes Biro teamed up to bring you Autumn Afternoon:
It’s a fun fall kit, but adding in the pinks and purples gives it just a little something extra, don’t you think? Let’s take a look at our example layouts this week:
I just had to volunteer for this one! The “i {heart} fall” tab was my jumping off point, and I did a non-photo layout, using the frames for my journaling. I kept the upbeat mood by using the pink as my main background, but the cutaway hexagons (using a modified version of my Blueprint #12) give peeks at the weathered wood underneath. Just a few dimensional elements reinforce the happy + fall theme.
Anna says: “When I saw the name of this collab I decided I will make an autumn layout. I started with choosing a paper and a frame and some other elements I really liked from both kits and I nearly put everything all together before I went to choose the right photo. Then I searched my photo stash and found a picture of wallnuts which I thought would be great for this fall theme. I run Coffeeshop’s Vintagram action and used a Kim Klassen’s texture on it to make it look more vintage and distressed. Finally I looked for a perfect quote to match it up and decided on a verse by John Keats.”
I’m loving this layout by Jennifer! Her gorgeous photos really take center-stage, and the vertical trio is very striking! She wasn’t afraid to mix 5 different patterned papers together, and it looks effortless, don’t you think? The scalloped border breaks up her strong lines, and the hand-cut plaid paper adds to the whimsy created by the scattered leaves and buttons.
Agi shares this layout, thus proving that designing isn’t her only talent! The vintage feel to the photos goes perfectly with the wood and kraft combo. The square arrangement balances nicely with the slightly haphazard feel of the photo mats, which keep the whole page from feeling too linear.
So, are you ready for your chance to win Autumn Afternoon Part 1 and Part 2? Comment here, and answer this:
What’s your favorite autumn afternoon activity?
I gotta admit… I love to curl up by a fire with a good book, or -more accurately- my Kindle.
I’ll be back next week to announce the winner, but in the meantime be sure to check out Mye’s and Agi’s shops this weekend. You can grab things at a great discount; and some kits will be as low as $1, or even free!
